How To Keep A Christmas Tree Fresh 1/4 c. micronized iron*
1 gallon hot water
2 c. Karo syrup
4 tsp. clorox
*Green Garde, available at florist or hardware store. Cut a fresh, live tree. Mix micronized iron with 1 gallon of water. Add Karo syrup and clorox. Saw off diagonal slice at least 1" thick from bottom of tree trunk. Pour in the greenish-blue solution, including all iron particles that have settled to bottom. Add warm tap water daily to keep holder filled.
